Time flew by, we CKCers had no choice but to say goodbye to the University of Oxford at the end of August. As everyday here was fulfilling, filled with knowledge and happiness, we've made significant improvementsthrough lectures and diverse activities.
In Oxford, we, students from theChu Kochen Honors College, attended lectures delivered by distinguished scholars from all around the world, broadening our intellectual horizons.
On the morning of August 30th, Dr. Nived Chebrolu's engaging lecture led on Natural Language Processing (NLP) guided us through its complexities. This valuable knowledge has laid a solid foundation for our future construction of intelligent language systems and has also sparked our imagination about the future development of artificial intelligence in the field of language processing.
In the afternoon, we were fortunate to attend a lecture on Advances in AI for Healthcare by Prof. David A. Clifton, during which we learned about the new possibilities that DrugGPT brings to future medical practice. Through case analysis and hands-on coding, we not only understood the theoretical models of AI and machine learning, but also gained a deeper insight into their construction in practice.
Apart from the acquirement of expertise, during various extracurricular activities, CKCers have not only gained a deeper insight into the culture and history of Oxford ,but also fostered solid friendships with companions from all corners of the world.
As night fell, we gathered at Wycliffe Hall for an unforgettable Karaoke Night, in which all peers, no matter where they come from, entirely immersed themselves in dancing and singing. It was a night full of happiness and warmth. It was a collective celebration of our fantastic journey in Oxford as well.
Visiting iconic buildings in Oxford made us realize the vibrant spirit of this attractive city. Engaging with the Renaissance paintings gave us a wonderful taste of the historical accumulation and the charming art. Walking into those solemn churches enveloped us with the weight of time and the depth of culture.
Participating in these meaningful and enriching activities, our English proficiency got improved and our international vision became broader. More importantly, we gained a clearer understanding of effective communication and collaboration within multicultural teams.
So meaningful was the experience that it was etched in our minds, which is sure to become our motivation to explore further. Farewell, Oxford, farewell, this unforgettable study tour.
