Looking back on the past semester, Chu Kochen Honor’s the Zhu Kezhen College Men's Soccer Team has been tempered through matches after match, growing through each struggle.

On October 13th, we welcomed our first competition — the "Freshman Cup." The new first-year students who had just joined the team showed great promise, facing multiple strong teams without fear. They demonstrated the spirit of Chu Kochen Honor’sZhu Kezhen College Men's Soccer in every contest.

The second major event was the "CC98 Cup." On November 5th, we faced the formidable "An Zhong Lian." Although we were not in a favorable position on the field, the team never gave up, fighting until the end. The players compensated for the gap in strength with tireless running, showcasing the tenacity and grit of Chu Kochen Honor’sZhu Kezhen College Men's Soccer. On December 3rd, after a 2:2 draw with "Cai Hua Gao," we unfortunately were eliminated from the group stage due to a goal disadvantage/difference.

Reflecting on the past, we summarize and learn from our experiences; looking towards the future, we march forward with our heads held high and together.

Highlights

Look back at the whole semester, the most memorable match was undoubtedly the life-and-death battle against "Cauliflower Cake" in the third round of the 98 Cup group stage. According to the previous goal disadvantagedifference, winning this match is the only way to progress out of the group. At the beginning of the match, our team rapidly took control of the situation, while the opponent aimed to secure a draw and resorted to defensive tactics, making it difficult for us to break through. In the 13th minute of the match, the opponent launched a long counterattack, lofted the ball over our defender's head, and scored the opening goal. However, Chu Kochen Honor’sChu Kouchen Honors College Men’s Soccer Team didn’t lose their ambitiondetermination to win, constantly launching attacks and showcasing moments of brilliance such as side hooks and shots on goal. Finally, in the 48th minute, Long Yushi scored an amazing goal after cutting inside, boosting the team's morale. In the 56th minute of the match, our team was awarded a penalty kick. Long Yushi took the kick but it was saved, missing the chance to turn the game around. Nevertheless, only 5 minutes later, our team performed a smooth coordination on the right side, advancing from the backfield to the front, and subsequently shot through the front door. Long Yushi calmly kicked the ball into the net, scoring for the second time and helping Chu Kochen Honor’sChu Kouchen Honors College complete the comeback. As the match reached its final moments, a mistake by the goalkeeper forced a penalty kick, the opponents equalized the match, and Chu Kochen Honor’sChu Kouchen Honors College Men's Soccer Team was unfortunately eliminated. Despite the disappointing outcome, Chu Kochen Honor’sChu Kouchen Men's Football Team always adheres to the combatant spirit of never giving up and never being afraid of losing. In the new semester, Chu Kochen Honor’sChu Kouchen Honors College Men's Soccer Team will rally and aim for the Three Good Cup!

Captain's Message

Long Yushi: In the 23-24 autumn and winter semester, in the journey of the Freshman Cup and the 98 Cup, what we gained more of was loss and regret. But we promptly summarized, took every training seriously, fought with all our might in every game, pursued excellence, and surpassed ourselves. The Three Good Cup in spring is our new battlefield, and may we give our all to once again create brilliance.

Wang Chuhao: Time passes quickly, and life is full of ups and downs. In the first half of the past school year, we experienced the joy of success together, and also faced the perplexity of failure. In the next semester, the team will face the most important Three Good Cup competition of the year. I hope everyone will train seriously and actively compete in the new semester, writing the most magnificent chapter of ourselves and Chu Kochen Honor’sChu Kouchen Honors College soccer!

The Story of CKC Rugby Team

For the new session of the Triple Merit Cup, the CKC Rugby team has not only experienced veterans, but also fresh blood.

In the pre-match training, tactics and execution were the two words repeatedly mentioned by the captain. "Backdoor", "Chao-dummy", "Quickly"... An entire series of tactics had been seriously rehearsed, summarised and reflected. Only through self-demanding will they have a chance to gain a greater trophy. For them, the new Triple Merit Cup is an excellent opportunity to try themselves and show their style!

Highlights

In this year's Triple Merit Cup, the CKC Rugby team was in Group B together with College of Energy Engineering and International Campus. At 9:30 a.m. on the day, In the very first match, CKC had met CEE as their opponent.

Facing the well-trained team considered the favourites to win the championship, CKC defended positively and searched for opportunities to attack, successfully completing a touchdown. In the first game, CKC lost to CEE with the score of 1:5. They resisted the pressure and searched for loopholes, completing four touchdowns. In this game, CKC ensured enough firepower on the offensive end as well as did a good job on the defensive end. Despite some mistakes, they finally took down International Campus with a record of 4:1, and successfully got out of the group.

Afterwards, CKC beat Medical College by a 2:1 advantage, officially declared to break into the final. During the final battle for the crown, CKC lost to CEE, and won the second place of this year's Triple Merit Cup.

The Story of CKC Men's Volleyball Team

The CKC Volleyball Team has been through thick and thin. Once brilliant, got the second place in the Triple Merit Cup; once despondent, struggled to get the desired position despite best efforts. However, the team has never been proud or discouraged, and has always been tenacious and trying their best, treating every training and every game with a heart of love for volleyball. Generations of CKC Volleyball Team have inherited the faith of never giving up and the courage to start afresh. The story of the men's volleyball team is still being written, and it is our sincere hope that the CKC men's volleyball team will go even further in the future!

Event Overview

Looking back at the past semester, the CKC Volleyball Team has experienced, and also  grown up, in one match after another.

The Triple Merit Cup is the most important tournament of the year. Every member of the team started preparation for the tournament one month before the start, discussing tactics, and consulting former seniors as coaches and mentors for advice and guidance based on their performance in the training matches. Eventually, in the group stage of the Cup, they won all three matches and came out first in the group. In the 16-to-8 match, they took down SAA(School of Aeronautics and Astronautics) 2:0, but lost to CS(Computer Science) 1:2 in the 8-to-4. Nevertheless, they  ended the year with a sixth place in the 5-8 rankings.

Highlights

The most exciting match throughout the Three Good CupsSanhao Cup was undoubtedly the battle for the 5th and 6th place against the Control College.

The Control College has traditionally been a strong team in theThree Good Cups Sanhao Cup, with their presence in the top eight almost a guarantee every year. Our CKC men’s volleyball team, however, had just undergone a big rebuilding and was not widely favored to perform well. Even our own players thought that the key to this match was to enjoy it. But as the game started, no one wanted to quit, no one wanted this precious match to end easily. Although we lost the first set with a tiny margin, the second set was fought with more excitement and tenacity, and we managed to snatch a set from our opponents. Notably, at the end of the set, our main spiker, Li Haoyu, unleashed three consecutive high-arching spikes, boosting the team’s spirits.

In the deciding match, although we failed to win the final victory, we played a thrilling game. We fought hard, we tried our best and we showed the strength of our CKC men’s volleyball team. Although the outcome is a bit regretful, we have reconciled with the loss gracefully. We believe that in the future, the CKC men’s volleyball team will once again take the stage of Three GoodSanhao Cups in a stronger posture!

Captain’s message

Liu Boyuan: Every member of CKC men’s volleyball team has made invaluable contributions to the team. I hope that in the future, CKC men’s volleyball team can once again stand on the finals court, driven by their love and passion for volleyball, freely shed sweat on the court, and radiate youthful energy!

Concluding remarks

The pouring sweat yields plentiful harvests,

We dance towards the brilliant sun with the cock’s crow,

More beauty awaits in the mountains and seas we will march to next,

For the CKC athletes to explore and pursue.

Riding the long wind, forging ahead. To encounter better sports and a better self!
