At 6.30 p.m. on Mar. 20^th, the recruiting career talk of UPA was held as scheduled in room 140 of the international conference center in ZhejiangUniversity. Dean Qiu Limin, Prof. Wang Shizong respective delivered an address for the talk. Many previous superior students were also invited to share their studying experience with the freshmen.

       Dean Qiu Limin first went on his speech. He briefly introduced CKC’s goal of cultivating talents and the subject distribution and so on to everyone and made a unique explain for UPA as ‘UPA can be understood as ‘your power is amazing’. He emphasized that interdisciplinary training mode together with CKC, a excellent stage, can excite everyone’s potential. At last, he proposed his own wishes for UPA, as the following goes, ‘UPA has gone through more than a decade. Wish in next 10 years UPA could step up a lot, not only named as UPA, but become a ‘UPA plus’.’

       Though Prof Yu Jianxing failed to come to the scene due to some trifles, he send his address in a video. The long teaching experience in UPA has made him possess deep feelings for her. The previous headmaster, Sir Chu Ko Chen had pointed out that the goal of university education was to model a man who can take huge responsibilities and change the country’s fate. On Yu’s own, UPA is the very class which carries out Sir Chu’s ideas. ‘Warm your heart but cool the brain’, he hoped that each UPAer has the sense of worth that take the responsibility for the whole country, meanwhile chases the truth untiringly.

       Then, Prof Wang Shizong began his address. He gave his own opinion about the conference’s theme, ‘the era’. ‘The era has changed, so I changed as well. I worried about ‘having no meat to eat’ when I was a child but worry about eating to much now’. His humorous words pleased the students under the stage. ‘But when witnessing the era, we should protect and promote the its advancement meanwhile. The era is created by each ordinary person.’ He welcomed the students to join UPA, surpassing personal egoism and realizing the value which one has been chasing.

At last, the hostess interviewed the previous superior students. Elder Wang Chengzhi, a 2005- level student, who are now devoting to the NGO, applies the public management mode studied in UPA in the specific field of public affairs. Another 2009-level UPA elder, Liu Yindong combined humanistic care with his own field of environment science, etc. Experiences of each elder student all made freshmen notice the change UPA brings to us more deeply.

‘Fly the dream, soaring in the public palace; head for the front, pursuing the truth’s dawn; fully load the hope, no longer hesitating when advancing; step by step, until the farthest distance.’ The talk ended smoothly, while the melodious song 2012-level UPAers brought to us still lingered in our ears. UPA, happiness set sail from now.
