Do you want to become the core of a team? Do you want to be the leader of a team? On the 6th of December, 2014, one of the MIX Festival activities of CKC, the Leadership Lecture, “face to face with elites”, organized by the Secretariat from the Students ’ Union, was launched in Congress Room 139.
The lecture began at 6:30 in the evening. The four guests were as follows: senior Ye Ruizhi, CEO of WiseZone; Zhu Yue, secretary general of the Fellow-students Association of CKC; Fu Weimin, vice-chairman of the Students ’ Union of CKC; and Li Zhenming, Minister of the Secretariat. After a brief prologue from the host and Li Zhenming ’s address, the climax came as senior Ye Ruizhi gave a wonderful lecture on leadership.
Ye Ruizhi, CEO of WiseZone, entered CKC in 2001 and graduated nearly ten years ago. As CEO of WiseZone, he used to launch jifenzhong.com, and moved on to APP Dayijun, which is related to online education. He is a successful entrepreneur. The lecture could be divided into two parts. One was some of his experiences up from entering Zhejiang University in 2001 till today. The other was his opinion on leadership. In addition, as an entrepreneur himself, he also expressed his own views on entrepreneurship.
Ye mentioned that his university life did not go smoothly but on the contrary was quite rough. As the moderator of Overseas Forum of cc98.org, Ye sent his girlfriend abroad but he himself failed to go as well. So he joined NetEase at the invitation of the company. With the update of his own ideas, Ye started his entrepreneurial career by establishing a team and creating jifenzhong.com which shots some short science videos for users to learn. Later the project changed to online education when encountered dilemma, which now enjoyed a satisfactory scale.
Ye thought that the foundation of leadership was the implementation capacity. One must cultivate his capacity to execute a task and the responsibility to conduct team work. These were the premises of leadership. Leaders would often take more responsibility, share success together but bear failure alone. Ye also introduced the new Cask Theory. The overall strength of a team was not in everyone 's shortcomings, but in the merits of each person. Each person 's strength composed a cask as a board. So as a leader in the team, the first consideration of him was the ability of the crew other than anything else such as interests.
Ye 's speech was very humorous and the students listened carefully. Three students had in-depth communication with him on the stage discussing their own problems. Ye solved the problems for them, giving the audience great inspiration at the same time.
Finally, in the host 's thanks and the students ’ enthusiastic applause, the lecture ended.
During the lecture, relaxed and harmonious atmosphere pervading, all the students and successful seniors communicated together and benefited a lot. Everyone not only had a deeper understanding of leadership and how to develop their own, but also learned a lot about entrepreneurial knowledge. At the same time, seniors could also have the opportunity to communicate with the younger face-to-face, enhancing mutual feelings. We believe that through all the students ’ everlasting efforts from CKC, a bright future awaits for us.
