On the occasion of the 60 th anniversary of the founding of our nation, CKC Honors College held a concert named "Melody & Memory: to celebrate the 60 th birthday of PRC" on October 24 th , which is also a part of the MIX festival events. Students showed their youthful spirit and extended their best wishes to motherland through beautiful songs.

    The concert consists of 3 chapters, aiming to show 3 different themes in the history of New China: breakthrough(1949-1969); rising(1969-1989) and takeoff(1989-2009) , with the most representative songs of a particular period to trace the courses china has gone through in 60 years. The performance was of various forms including vocal solo, antiphonal singing and chorus. Students brought about a delightful audiovisual banquet with their unique reinterpretation of Red classic songs. Embodying a sincere innocence, the poem recitation of "Pearl of the East", full of enthusiasm, creativity and solemnity, got the concert a success at the very beginning.

    During the following competition, the aspiring dream pursuers of CKC showed people not only their excellent vocal skills but also other specialties in diversified areas. This concert did not only reflect the comprehensive quality and creativity of students in our university, but also act as a tribute to our motherland for her 60 th birthday.

    All shall extend their sincere wishes that our country will be prosperous,strong and ever-changing in the future.
