In order to impress freshmen of different campuses and 112 years’ cultural accumulation of Zhejiang University, Youth League Committee organized an activity called "Pursuing & Tracing" on October 18 th , in which freshmen paid a visit to four campuses. The first destination is the Zhijiang Campus nearby Qiantang River. Red brick roofs, big clock with Roman numerals and Ionic columns are signature look of this campus. All students marveled at the buildings of traditional European architectural style.

    The exotic characteristics here charmed everyone. After lunch, students visited the Huajiachi Campus. Accompanied by gentle breeze, birds’ merry songs, and sweet scent of flowers, people there were boating on the rippling Huajia Lake. Along the tree-lined bank, several students and teachers were taking a walk, chatting with each other, or doing some reading. On this campus everyone lives in harmony with the nature. Like a petite but beautiful girl, Xixi Campus welcomed the freshmen in a shy and humble manner with its unique charm. Although the campus is small, the profound cultural heritage makes the air there filled with the nice scent of books and printing ink. The final destination is the Yuquan Campus.

    Students were deeply impressed by the old teaching buildings, the statue of President Chu, and the library with a large collection. After listening to those moving stories students felt the heaviness of the historical mission on their shoulders that a ZJUer should accomplish. This activity brought freshmen a sense of sublime, which includes the glamour of ZJU’s hundred-year history, the supreme honor of being a ZJUer, and the spiritual motivation of seeking truth, never stopping progressing and pursuing excellence that passes on by generations of ZJUers.

    As aspiring members of the CKC Honors College, students should inherit the glorious history, take contemporary responsibility and sail to the brand-new future!
