To reach the goal of "laying a solid foundation for talents", CKC started the Excellent Education Plan covering philosophy education, math & science capacity training and other aspects. The aim is to cultivate future leaders and innovative talents with solid basis, comprehensive abilities, international vision and enduring competitiveness in certain fields.

Model

Honor System

CKC students are thoughtfully selected from excellent senior high graduates who were enrolled before National College Entrance Examination from all around the nation, or who had impressive performance in the Examination. The college adopts an open and circulating system in which outstanding students from other colleges in Zhejiang University get chances to join after the test, and certain students unadaptable to the college's mode can choose to leave for other colleges. After finishing the special training project, students will receive their graduation certificate and diploma. The more excellent ones will receive CKC Honors Certificate of Zhejiang University.

Program Setting

Honors Program of Science & Engineering (Mixed Class)
To enhance the science foundation of Engineering students and to improve Science students' ability to use practical knowledge, the college has included all students into one program. During the first two academic years, curriculum is designed to aim at capacity training. Students are to select their majors from science, engineering and life sciences at the end of the second year. They are also free to choose their mentor, who in turn decides whether or not to accept the students’ application. During the following two years, their mentors will be closely involved in their individual academic development.

Honors Program of Liberal Arts & Social Science
Students in Honors Program of Liberal Arts & Social Science are given basic public courses in the first academic year. In the second year, they are to select their majors from liberal arts and social science, and to choose a mentor, who in turn decides whether or not to accept the students’ application. During the following two years, their mentors will be closely involved in their individual academic development.

   Pursuit Science Class
Students of Pursuit Science Class are selected from freshmen and students with good performance in academic competitions. The class adopts a "spire" mode which includes personalized education and continuous study from undergraduate to doctor. It carries out a mentoring system, going hand in hand with an individualized and internationalized cultivating system. The class lays different ways for undergraduates, masters and doctors, who are expected to be future talents in basic subjects as math, physics, chemistry, biology and computer science.

Competitive Courses

   Honor Course Setting
CKC started its honor courses in 2009 on the basis of renowned overseas universities' experience. The courses are majorly intended for CKC students.
Aimed to be "advanced, researching, internationalized", the honor courses place much emphasis on the cultivation of students' profound basic knowledge and highly-developed logical thinking ability. What's more, the honor courses raise students' interest in exploring knowledge as well as their capacity of judging and independent thinking. In addition, students' basic knowledge, creativity and their ability to solve complicated problems in scientific ways are strengthened. With the orientation of solid groundwork, advanced teaching methods and integrated knowledge, while instructed by elite professors and teachers ,the honor courses are laying a sound foundation for cultivating the internationalized and "broad, specialized, compound" future leaders.
