On May, 5th, preparatory students of grade 2009 came to register. This year, the theme of preparatory program was adjusted to "adapting to the campus life", and the students were arranged to enter the university on May 5th, study here for one month. Deputy Secretary of party branch of Chu Kochen College(CKC), Miss Zhong rongrong presented the register place in person, inquiring about the demand of students and their parents. At about four o’clock in the afternoon, teachers of CKC went to Danyang block to visit the students.
In order to help the students adapting to campus life quickly, the university arranged some particular courses for them, along with certain colorful extra-curricular activities, providing them with chances to know about Zhejiang University(ZJU) and make friends. On the morning of may 6th, the magnificent opening ceremony and the ice-breaking games presented these students a warm ZJU and an energetic CKC. On May 10th, the activity called "Go for Goal" was preceded, letting students to know about the Zijingang Campus and the history of ZJU.
The students also learned about unity and sharing. Apart from all kinds of activities, there were some wonderful lectures: May 21st, at the time of the 112th anniversary of ZJU, some delegates of preparatory students were organized to attend the first report of "Qiushi Recitation Hall". The former president of ZJU, Pan Yunhe delivered the report. Many students said that they got a lot from it and claimed to plan their future life under the instruction of seeking truth and creativity.
This series also included the lecture entitled "on the hopeful land----the present general situation and the thought of rural reform" by a famous expert, professor Chen Xiwen and the one by the deputy secretary of the party branch of ZJU, professor Zheng Qiang. On May 24th, CKC carried out a tour of four-campus of ZJU. On May, 31st, the students took part in their farewell salon in the morning.
They were invited to the evening party of the 09-graded graduates, and they also gave a performance as special guests. Through this month, preview preparatory students of grade 2009 were believed to adapt faster and better to university life in September.
